Commonly prescribed for anxiety, Alprazolam has long been used to treat general anxiety, panic attacks, and other mental disorders. The average Alprazolam dosage for adults is mg daily. For more severe cases, the Alprazolam dosage is increased to mg two or three times daily. For older adults, the initial Alprazolam dosage is mg a day and is usually restricted so that no more than 1 mg is taken daily on a regular basis. Alprazolam is generally used for short-term periods of therapy lasting only 8 weeks or less. Physicians normally refrain from prescribing the drug to children under the age of 18. However, Alprazolam should not be used at any dosage without a prescription and guidance from a physician.
The remission-induction rate was % and probability of 5-year Overall survival (OS) and event-free survival (EFS) were 62% (56-69% with 95% Confidence intervals (CIs)) and 56% (49-62%), respectively. Treatment-related mortality (TRM) was %. Among patients without Down syndrome (DS) or acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), the presence of t(8;21) or inv(16) was a significant good prognostic factor both in the univariate and multivariate analyses. Children with DS (N = 10) and APL (N = 14) also showed a good survival exceeding 70% in 5 years.
